The formation of a fintech company ESP BH d.o.o. Sarajevo, with Comtrade as one of its co-founders, and the launch of the Online Payment Application (OPA), have been recognized as the best business move in the financial sector in 2019, according to the Indikator.ba portal selection.
In the year marked by lively events at financial market, mainly outlined by takeovers and mergers, as well as many introductions of new products, Indikator.ba portal analysts point out events at the domestic fintech scene.
“The unrivaled move is the ESP BH company formation, for which four companies invested its capital – BH Telecom and Raiffeisen Bank (45% each) and Comtrade d.o.o. Sarajevo and QSS d.o.o. Sarajevo (5% each), as well as the launch of a domestic application for OPA payments. This joint venture deserves attention, because it’s about bringing together forces to focus upon the domestic market and launch a trendy product, while digital payments are conquering the whole world. The OPA application is also a proof that the domestic market has sufficient knowledge and capacity to make high-quality financial technology products that won’t lag behind other solutions offered in the world, with an open opportunity for further upgrades and improvements”, said Indikator.ba portal analysts.
The selection of the best business move is our own non-profit project, independent of the Indikator.ba portal; a consulting team, composed of the representatives of academic communities, economy and media, was engaged in making the final decision.
“We would like to thank the Indikator.ba portal for recognizing our success: it’s an extremely valuable and great recognition which confirms that OPA is prominent in a number of other excellent initiatives and projects. Today, OPA is present in more than 3,500 points of sale at retailers of various industries. It’s important to point out that the number of OPA users is growing every single day, with an increasing trend of over 50% every month. We note that we’ll continuously monitor the requirements of the market, existing and new users, and also design new OPA content that’ll enrich the user experience and OPA offer”, said Bakir Ćelosmanović, the director of ESP BH d.o.o. Sarajevo, on behalf of the Management Board.
Comtrade is a partner in the OPA platform implementation, an innovative payment platform designed to connect users and merchants in the market chain.
